Stay alert with account alerts

Setting up account alerts is a simple way to monitor account activity. At BrioDirect, you can easily set up alerts on your accounts with the Mobile Banking App.

With the Mobile Banking App, you can set notifications for large purchases, low balances, ATM transactions, transfers, and deposits. Account alerts can be sent via text message, email, and push notifications on your mobile devices. Even if you’re on top of your spending habits, these alerts can help you monitor your accounts and identify fraud quickly.

Create strong, unique passwords

It’s important to set up and use unique passwords to help protect your account from a security breach. If you use the same credentials across multiple sites, you risk giving hackers access to other accounts if your information is leaked in a breach.

To keep your accounts secured, create different usernames and passwords for each account you have. Combine capital and lowercase letters with numbers and symbols to create a strong passcode. Review your credit report three times per year

Request one report per bureau every four months, and you’ll be able to monitor your credit report year-round. If you see suspicious activity on your credit report, alert your primary financial institutions and create a recovery plan online with the Federal Trade Commission.

Don’t respond to requests for personal information

Never share sensitive information with someone who is contacting you, even if they claim to be from your bank or the IRS. These are almost always phishing attempts or a scenario where criminals try to obtain personal and financial information through calls, texts, and emails.

  • Avoid using free, public Wi-Fi to complete financial transactions
  • When shopping online, make sure the site is security enabled—look for URLs with https:// to keep information secure
  • Use antivirus and antimalware software on your computers, tablets, and smartphones
  • Stay current with updates to your devices—updates frequently contain security enhancements
  • Password-protect your home’s internet connection
